Error #1: Applying Oil on Completely Dry Skin
Huiles végétales do not create hydration—they help retain it. On completely dry skin, oil sits on the surface, clogging pores and leaving a greasy film without real benefits for skin cells. The fix: Always apply your oil on slightly damp skin—right after showering or misting with floral water (rose, lavender, blue chamomile). Just 2-3 drops are enough for the entire face. 💡 Pro tip: Apply your aqueous serum first (vitamin C, hyaluronic acid), let it penetrate for 30 seconds, then layer the oil on top. It seals in active ingredients and prevents evaporation.
Error #2: Using Too Much Oil
More does not mean better with essential oils. Exceeding 3-4 drops for the face causes clogged pores, acne, and persistent shiny skin—especially with rich oils like argan, avocado, or macadamia. The fix: Start with 2 drops, warm between palms for 5 seconds, then gently tap onto the face (do not rub). If skin absorbs within 2 minutes, you’ve used the right amount. Otherwise, reduce by one drop.
